Miguesl Sanchez's Autobiography:

I have been interested in martial arts since I was a young boy of five years of age. I began my first martial arts training in the Japanese art of Aikido in May 1985 until June of 1986.

It was on October 23, 2000 that I walked into the Kali Academy of Mixed Martial Arts and had the privilege of meeting Sifu/Guro Bud Thompson the founder and head instructor of the academy. I was so impressed with him and the curriculum of the academy that I joined the academy on that first visit. Since I have been there in the past seven years I have trained under the guidance of Sifu/Guro Bud Thompson and some of his very trusted and talented instructors. The names of the other instructors that I have trained under are Senior Instructor Sifu Jim Romero, Assistant Senior Instructor Michael Berkery and Sifu Lionel Luna and the students of the Kali Academy of Mixed Martial Arts, which I am very grateful for the time and knowledge they were so willingly to pass on to me.

At the Kali Academy of Mixed Martial Arts over the years I also had the pleasure of training with some of the worlds finest and most recognized martial artists such as Sifu/Guro Dan Inosanto, Guru Steve Plink, Professor Salem Assli, and BJJ Champion Dale Frank. I trained very hard and with passion and for that on May 11, 2005 I was presented with and Apprentice Instructorship and certified to teach by Sifu/Guro Bud Thompson and co-signed by Sifu/Guro Dan Inosanto.

At the present I teach part time at the Kali Academy of Mixed Martial Arts, and I am continuing to train under the guidance of Sifu/Guro Bud Thompson and his talented staff to further improve my knowledge and skill.
